CARING FOR YOUR CANDLE

CANDLE USAGE & INFO

BEGINNING YOUR JOURNEY

Remove all the recyclable packaging then place candle on a heat proof surface

IGNITING THE FLAME

If you're new to wooden wicks, one of the most charming things about them is the gentle crackling sounds they make.

Light the wooden wick on one end and watch the flame gracefully flow across the wick.

MELTING THE WAX

Once the candle is lit, leave it burning until the pool of wax has reached the edge of the container before extinguishing.

  • Soy wax has a unique “memory” which means that you can teach it to burn to the edge of the jar in order to make the most out of your candle.

  • Melting to the edge of the jar could take up to 3 hours.

  • We recommend the maximum amount of time to leave your candle burning should be 4 hours.

  • You will notice that each time you light your candle, the wax becomes darker; this is completely normal.

  • Once you have started burning your candle, you may notice that it is not smooth when it solidifies; this is completely normal.

WICK CARE

You do not need to trim your wick the first time you are lighting it.

  • Once you have used your candle, you will notice the wick has turned black and could appear as though it is splitting in two. When this happens, it is good practice to trim this part of the wick.

To trim your wick, wait for your candle to cool completely then either using your fingers, a tissue or a pair of wick trimmers; gently remove the part of the wick that has split.

  • This will stop the candle from sooting and keep your jar looking clean and your candle beautiful. Note: If at any point your flame gets too high or starts to smoke, trim it to approximately 0.50 cm.

EXTINGUISHING THE FLAME

When you have finished enjoying your candle for the day, carefully snuff out the flame taking care not to splash the wax.

  • Ensure candle is extinguished before leaving the house or going to sleep.

  • Wait for the candle to return to it’s solid state before handling or moving

  • Before re-lighting your candle, ensure there is no debris lying on top of the wax.

RECYCLING & SUSTAINABILITY

Sustainability is one of our company’s core values, all our packaging materials are recyclable and some are even compostable.

We are also working towards creating a realistic solution for empty jars, but the good news is that they are also fully recyclable. However, since they're so lovely please give your jar another purpose… pen pot perhaps?

AURA

Our affirmation candles aim to channel emotional support, encouragement and proclamation; creating a serene aura for all those who light them.

Close your eyes, take a deep breath and focus your mind on the inspiration radiating from the candle and the soothing sounds of the crackling wick.
